Â
👋🏻 Hi again, my name is LaTeisha Moore
Â
I made this quick no-code website (using Popsy + Notion together for the first time!) for you and the team at BLK SHP.
I hope this helps you understand a bit more about who I am and why I believe I’m a good fit for the org.
Â

Background
I used to joke I was the white sheep in my family, as a first-gen college student. That status also made me a black sheep in college and in my career, with its own share of opportunities and hardships.
As you may have seen from my experience on the home page, I’ve had several careers across different industries. This means I’m as comfortable pitching the c-suite as I am chatting up the bartender.

“The truth is that you aren’t lacking a destiny or purpose. There is a very good reason for your insatiable curiosity: you’re someone who’s going to shake things up, create something novel, solve complex, multidimensional problems, make people’s lives better in your own unique way. Whatever your destinies are, you can’t step into them while stifling your multipotentiality. You must embrace it and use it.” —Emilie Wapnick

Mission
Over the past year, I noticed a creative awakening in myself and those around me. I completed a personal project called Alpha Projects and opened up the final projects to 6 volunteers who shared the project’s personal impact.
I launched a “Makers Lab” Slack channel at work for 80 colleagues and heard how much people were grateful for the space to share their creativity, how they had used making to deal with trauma, and know that they were not alone.
From New York, I connected with Creative Quests, a global community of creatives whose home base is in London.

Current Role (and Why I’d Leave)
I'm currently Director of Service Design at Year Up - a workforce development nonprofit working on a scalable talent ecosystem to close the Opportunity Divide.
It’s actually an exciting time because I’ve sold the vision of using a community-led approach to defining what the future of coaching and community-building looks like for the young adults we serve.
That said, the mission of BLK SHP so deeply resonated I wanted to get to know the team!
